GIVING BACK
Despite being a new brand established in January 2020 – we are committing to donating 2% of all online sales. Not profit or proceeds but sales which ensures transparency to our customers. It means if you make a purchase for $100 - $2 of that goes directly to established charitable and not-for-profit organisations aligned with our core beliefs and values.
This is not something that we chose to do as a one-off or on special occasions but for every sale for every day of the year. This decision is essentially, Zart deciding to forgo a larger percentage of profits in an efforts to make a positive impact in the world.
How do we decide which charities to support?
We carefully select our charities by ensuring they are aligned to our values but also looking at the finer print which includes:
1) Assessing their impact related information (i.e. a charity's specific impact measurements)
2) Reviewing their financial records and history
3) Ensuring they are and continue to be transparent and accountable.
For 2020, our donations will be divided among two main organisations:
Friends of the Earth and our network of grassroots groups in 77 countries fight to create a more healthy, just world. Our current campaigns focus on clean energy and solutions to global warming, protecting people from toxic and new, potentially harmful technologies, and promoting smarter, low-pollution transportation alternatives. Friends of the Earth is the world's largest grassroots environmental network. Our dedicated staff fights to protect the rights of all people to live in a safe and healthy environment. Our campaigns demonstrate our belief that the fight for justice and the movement to protect the health of the planet are part of the same struggle.
The Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit organisation that uses community-led approaches aimed at improving the quality of life in rural Armenia, with a particular focus on children and youth. We work to ensure the development of healthy, educated, socially responsible and economically viable villagers and rural communities. In just 12 years, COAF has raised over $25 million dollars and implemented programs in more than 44 villages.
